Bringing awareness to our awesome Phoenix restaurant scene is just one way that we strive to put our dynamic and innovative community on the map. Being part of a local community involves more than just shopping and eating local. It’s about getting to know the faces behind the food and hearing their incredible stories.
In the spirit of bringing our restaurant community into the spotlight, we’ve asked the members of our Devour Phoenix Restaurant Coalition a few questions to get to know them better and hear a bit about their inspiration.
Today’s featured individual is:

Q: What is your favorite food memory?
I have a lot of really good food memories but at the top is a dinner I had with my Italian side of the family in a small town in tuscany. I was young but the laughter, taste and smells, simplicity of the ingredients, hours of wine and stories stay with me and remind me of the evening.
Q: Which other Phoenix chefs or restaurateurs inspire you and why?
Chef Gio Osso inspires me with his work ethic and his drive to be a family man and a great business person.
Q: What do you think should be the next food trend in the Phoenix food & dining scene?
I get this question a lot. I think that we should follow the trends but more cook the food you are passionate about. Cook what you love to eat and the quality will shine and guests and employees alike with flock to you.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to an aspiring chef, what would it be?
Be prepared to work… This is not a cushy job, there are very rewarding moments but also a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. You also have to be extremely passionate about cooking, the kitchen, and offering a home away from home for your guests to come together and dine.
