Bringing awareness to the Phoenix restaurant scene is just one way that we Localists strive to put our dynamic and innovative community on the map. Being a part of a local community involves more than just shopping and eating local; it is about getting to know the faces behind these culinary masterpieces and hearing their incredible stories.
In the spirit of bringing our restaurant community into the spotlight, we have asked the members of our Devour Phoenix Restaurant Coalition a few questions to get to know them better and hear a bit about their inspiration. In today’s article, we are featuring:
Nick Campisano / General Manager & Owner of Clever Koi
Q: What do think that Clever Koi uniquely brings to the Arizona restaurant scene?
Q: What is your favorite dish from your menu and why?
My favorite dish on the menu, at the moment, has to be our Lemon Chicken Ramen. The combination of tang and richness, and the addition of some sichuan spice, just takes you on this flavor journey that I feel is unforgettable.
Q: What do you love most about being a local business in Phoenix?
The most rewarding, and loving, part about being a local business in Phoenix is providing a place where the community can gather and soak in all the positive vibes that comes from our food and beverage program, along with hospitality. Serving our community is so important to us. It’s where the enthusiasm for the craft, and devotion to taking care of people, flourishes.
Q: What other restaurant partnerships have inspired you?
There are so many inspirations that come out of this fellowship of talented restauranteurs. Aaron Chamberlin and Chris Bianco as well as Douglas Robson, have made such a positive impact on me; their attention to detail and love for their craft and patrons resonate with me deeply. The quality of product that they bring to table helps inspire me to keep learning and do my utmost, not only for the community but for our staff. Our staff is so important to us at Clever Koi. Sam Fox has been a leader through out the bulk of my career. I profoundly respect him as an accomplished business man, who has a keen awareness of what his guests need and want in their dining experience.
