Cheuvront Restaurant and Wine Bar (1326 North Central Avenue) will host 2 special tastings this weekend: Paso Robles Wine Tasting on Saturday, September 29 at 4 pm ($15 per person, includes a tapas plate), and American Originals Cheese Tasting on Sunday, September 30 at 4 pm ($18 per person).

On Saturday, September 29, Roosevelt Row CDC will host its first-annual Chile Pepper Festival. This homage to the Southwestern ingredient will feature heapin’ helpin’s of the Valley’s best chile pepper dishes from local chefs, restaurants and gourmet food trucks. A Four Peaks beer & Don Julio margarita garden and live music will also be on the menu.

Slow Food Phoenix is hosting a meeting/feast on Tuesday, October 2 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at The Parlor (1916 East Camelback Road). Slow Food is a non-profit, eco-gastronomic, membership organization that educates people about how their food choices affect the rest of the world. Parlor owner Aric and executive chef Jared will talk about the ideas and philosophies behind their restaurant while serving 3 courses of seasonal and specialty dishes featuring ingredients from their garden and local farms. New things are happening at Switch (2603 North Central Avenue)! Their Happy Hour takes place EVERY DAY from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm featuring $3 beers, wine, margaritas, sangria, caipirinhas, vodka Italian sodas and vodka sweet tea lemonades. And they have a new special for October – roasted butternut squash and chickpea cakes with spiced apple chutney and red onion marmalade for $8.95. They are featuring the AAWL as their charity until the end of the year. A qualifying donation to this organization gets you a $50 gift certificate to Switch and they are donating proceeds to the organization through the end of December.

We love Cibo (603 North 5th Avenue) for their pizza but they also host a delicious Pasta Tuesday event each week featuring their housemade pasta dishes. Here’s a good reason to take a road trip…the Tucson Originals Culinary Festival takes place in October with three events on two nights. Two wine tastings paired with dishes prepared by local chefs will take place at Casino del Sol Resort on Saturday, October 6th, 6-9pm.
