The 6th Annual Devoured Culinary Classic took place this past weekend against the beautiful backdrop of the Phoenix Art Museum and once again proved why it is the region’s premier culinary event.
From frog legs to vegan donuts, buffalo tartare to octopus salad, the Devoured Culinary Classic was a two-day display of Arizona’s top culinary talent.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS
For the first time, this year’s event included a People’s Choice Awards Competition. Attendees were invited to nominate their favorite dishes in a variety of categories including: Best Overall Presentation, Most Creative Booth, Best Dish, Most Unique Dish, Best Dessert, Best Great Hall Exhibitor, Best Demo and Best of the Best.
The top honor, Best of the Best, went to Roka Akor Scottsdale on Saturday and Hana Japanese Eatery on Sunday.

In addition to early entrance to the event, VIP tickets holders were also granted access to a private VIP lounge where they sampled exclusive cocktails and wines, as well as tasted dishes from and talked with a few of Arizona’s most celebrated chefs.
James Beard-recognized Chef Kevin Binkley treated Saturday VIPs to 4 unique dishes representing each of his restaurants - Binkley’s Restaurant, Cafe Bink, Bink’s Midtown and Bink’s Scottsdale.Mixologist Richie Moe was also on hand serving “Tea-Tos” Green Tea that paired perfectly with Chef Binkley’s culinary creations.
The VIP lounge featured Chef Greg LaPrad of Overland Trout in Sonoita, AZ, as well as wine from Dos Cabezas WineWorks and Callaghan Vineyards. Chef LaPrad wowed VIPs with his horseradish smoked trout rilette and cocoa-rubbed wild venison.On Sunday, Phoenix Art Museum’s Palette was transformed into an additional VIP space, featuring an array of dishes from Chef Dustin Christofolo of Quiessence at the Farm at South Mountain, including the artfully balanced fried bone marrow, red pepper jam, preserved lemon and mint dish.

“Springtime Shine” Named “Best Cocktail of the Valley”
On March 1st, startenders from 9 of the Valley’s top restaurants/bars battled it out at Crescent Ballroom
for the honor of being named the “Best Cocktail of the Valley!” After three rounds of competition, Brandon Casey of Citizen Public House
won with his drink “Springtime Shine” featuring Arizona Distilling Company’s
